Just Got Upgraded to 11g OCP DBA

Fahd Mirza
Well drum roll please and while we are at it, have some background oriental music too.

Last Friday(26th Feb, 2010), I attempted 1z0-050, 11g New Features for the Administrators exam to upgrade my 10g OCP DBA to 11g OCP DBA, and the result was......100%.

Though I dont require certification to express my love and passion for the Oracle, but it does give me an assurance.

So how did I prepare for the exam.

Goals, my dear. I setup some goals.

I gave myself one month for the preparation. I used Oracle docs especially the concept guide, administrator guide and new feature guide. I downloaded, installed, played the Oracle 11g R2 database. I actually got my hands dirty with features related to memory, ASM, ACL, DRM, Schedular, EM, partioning, indexing and some of the others. Above all, I kept the core architecture in pespective all the time.

Go and have a go at the OCP. Its really not difficult at all. Its rather fun.

PS. Now you to have to take exam with VUE center instead of prometric.
